According to the provincial director of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Superintendent Alfredo Melão, speaking to journalists the guard died due to alleged inhalation of a toxic product released by the criminals to carry out the assault.

From the inspection carried out at the bank branch according to the source, the burglary of the safe was not carried out by the robber who after the attempt failed, they seized a vehicle of the aforementioned bank branch and took it about seven kilometers to the north of the city of Mbanza Kongo, where it was abandoned for alleged lack of fuel.

He assured that the National Police are in the pursuit of these men, while the victims who supposedly inhaled harmful substance are still hospitalized in the Provincial Hospital of Zaire.

This is the first robbery on a bank branch to be registered this year in the town of Mbanza Kongo.
