The official who was speaking to ANGOP said that the dam based in the  186 kilometers south of Huambo city , has reached its highest level of water depreciation, considers that this work should be done as soon as possible, so that the situation do not get worse.

To him the lack of water in the reservoir is not only a consequence of the irregularity of the rain, but also a situation generated by lack of sand removal of Ngove river basin.

Therefore, it regretted that, since the re-inauguration in 2012, no de-erosion work has ever been carried out to remove the debris that is found along the courses of the rivers of the Ngove basin.

The construction engineer says he has no doubt that the river basin has accumulated a number of debris in the Tembo, Kunhoñgamua and Cunene rivers that flow into the Ngove dam.

Pedro Sebastião António said that is in progress a production retention program in the order of 05 to 10 megawatts.
