This idea was defended last Tuesday, in Luanda, by the interim minister of Higher Education, António Miguel André, when speaking at the closing of the first consultation meeting about the Draft-Law on Assessment and Accreditation System in the Higher Education sector, which was held this August 1-2.

The minister defended that the contributions that were collected at the meeting represent a good exercise, stressing that the document is a very serious legal tool for the country’s education system.

He seized the occasion to announce that a commission has been set up to pen and place under public analysis a draft-document on “Distance Learning”.

The Accreditation System has the objective to formalise and publish the quality of a higher education institution.

The meeting was attended by representatives of higher education institutions and trade unionists.
