The project, financed by the World Bank, the Global Fund, the Social Support Fund (FAS), with the support of the Ministry of Territory Administration and the donation of the European Union, is part of the expansion of the National Policy for Community and Sanitary Development Agents (PNADECOS), according to a press release sent to Angop on Monday.
PNADECOS is a reaffirmation of the commitment to expand social services to all communities and stimulate their development, especially to the poorest people, the note reads.
Thus, the intervention strategy, which began with the 1st National Workshop on Community and Health Development Agent (ADECOS), held on June 29, 2015, registered the training and integration of 540 agents in 18 municipalities of six provinces of Bengo, Luanda, Lunda Norte, Malanje, Moxico and Uíge.
The launch and implementation of this project took place on September 1, 2016 in Malanje.
In order to continue with the implementation and expansion of the ADECOS project at national level, twelve provinces are expected to be included, namely Benguela, Lunda Sul, Cabinda, Huambo, Huila, Cuanza Norte, Zaire, Namibe, Cunene, Cuando Cubango, Cuanza Sul and Bié.
The increase in coverage in the provinces of Luanda, Malanje, Moxico, Lunda Norte and Bengo and the prospect of integrating new supervisors and substitute agents in the municipalities that are part of the project are also included in IFAL's objectives.
ADECOS is the figure that expands social services within the communities, stimulating their development. It is an ordinary person, selected among the inhabitants of a community, which stands out for the human qualities, and hired by the Municipal Administration, trained by IFAL and works under the supervision of FAS.
