Speaking to the press after the meeting with Governor João Baptista Kussumua, the diplomat said that in addition to delivering the document, he discussed with local authorities possible areas of cooperation, with emphasis on trade and agriculture.

He said that although there are few Namibians in Huambo province, it is in the interest of the authorities of his country to strengthen trade with this part of the national territory.

Mauritz Lucky Gawanab lamented the lack of Angolan products in stores in Namibia, predicting that tightening cooperation would lead to more product exchange.

He acknowledged that Angola, in particular the province of Huambo, has a lot of agricultural potentialities that can be exploited to promote economic development, at a time when the Angolan State needs to diversify its national economy.

In Angola, the Republic of Namibia counts, in addition to the embassy in Luanda (capital of the country), with the consulates of Cuando Cubango, Cunene and Huíla.
