Angola: Minister reaffirms family as pillar of nation
Luanda - The Minister of Social Action, Family and Women Issues, Victória Francisco Correia da Conceicão, pointed out this Thursday as a priority of the sector to continue seeing the family as a pillar of the Nation.

The official was speaking at the act of portfolio transfer with her predecessor, Filomena Delgado, in an event attended by the officials and staff of the then Ministry of Family and Women Issues, which the new executive hás joined the Ministry of Social Welfare.
According to her, empowerment programmes to support families living in poverty, gender policies and support for Angolan women, especially domestic violence, will also be part of the intervention of the sector.
"We want to ensure the availability of differentiated social services to the family, in particular the most vulnerable ones, by developing feasible projects", she stressed.
In relation to the staff of the sector, the minister said that the policy to be undertaken will be to work as a team, harnessing all those who are willing to work hard and dedicated, responding to the wishes and expectations of citizens.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Minister, Filomena Delgado, said that in parliament she will continue working for the benefit of families and the eradication of poverty.
She said that despite the merger of the two ministries the responsibility towards the family is great because it must constitute the core of the society.
