Red Cross empowers peasants on food security

Ondjiva - At least 35 peasants, associated in cooperatives, in the municipality of Ombadja, southern Cunene province, are taking part, since Thursday in Calueque, in a training session on food security aimed to fight against hunger in the families promoted by the provincial Red Cross.

Farmers attend capacity building seminar

The two-days training session is addressing issues related to contingency plan, adaptation and mitigation of climate change risks, the importance of training and risk reduction, threats, vulnerability as well as the capacity of adapting to the issues.

The local  Red Cross Secretary ,Regina Olga Francisco said that the seminar aims to raise awareness of the peasants, so they  can understand  how to deal with climate change, which has caused many damages and resulted in hunger.
