Luanda Island serene after New Year's Eve party

Luanda - Almost "desert" beaches and Murtala Mohammed avenue calm is the scenario today, Monday, on Luanda Island, one of the main tourist sites of the country's capital and generally chosen by national and foreign citizens to commemorate the beginning of the New Year.

Located in the urban district of Ingombota, municipality of Luanda, the island of Luanda received, in the last hours of 2017, more than three thousand people who attended the festival of the fireworks launch and participated in dances.

In the round held by Angop, some citizens took advantage of the first hours of the day to do physical maintenance, while others, tired because of the commemoration of the year transition, were lying on the sand resting.

In the remaining streets and avenues of the districts of the municipality of Luanda, traffic is flowing.

The traffic and public order police officers are in various points to maintain order, the result of a special operation to ensure the festive season carried out by the Luanda Provincial Command of the National Police.
