173 cases of domestic violence notified

Cabinda - At least 173 cases of domestic violence were notified during the period from January to September this year, said on Monday in Cabinda city, the provincial secretary for Social Action, Family and Woman Promotion, Fátima Congo.

The official, who was speaking to the press during the opening of the 16-day of activism against gender violence, underlined that out of the aforementioned number of cases reported at least 160 were assisted.  

In his turn, Cabinda’s deputy-governor for Social and Political sector, Alberto Paca, expressed concern on the increase of the cases of domestic violence in the province, mainly of those related to maltreatment against woman and paternity denial.

“It is necessary to discourage these practices through the observation of the juridical culture by denouncing to law enforcement authorities”, added the official.
