National Police return stolen cars to owners

Luanda - Four of the 23 vehicles recovered by National Police, as part of "Operation Tiger" were returned Wednesday to the owners, announced Luanda Provincial Command.

The return of vehicles to their owners followed the legal procedures, according to the director of the Press Office of Luanda's Interior Ministry's Department, Intendent chief Mateus de Lemos Rodrigues.

Speaking to the press, the senior officer of National Police, urged the other citizens to get in touch with the municipal and district division commands to know whether their cars have been recovered or not.

The police also detained a 28-year-old Angolan woman for bribery of 120.366 million belonging to a Lebanese citizen.

Three men were also detained, one of whom - taxi driver - in connection with stealing passengers' belongings, another for removing spare part from vehicle for trade, and the third charged with possessing banknotes to produce counterfeit bills.

Four others detained for involvement in three crimes of rape in the municipality of Cacuaco, Luanda.

Still, during the operation conducted from 06 to 20 June, the police also seized 65 firearms and a knife, 10 motorbikes, drugs and 410 citizens suspected of involvement in various crimes.
