2 Border Police officers arrested over murder of citizen

Ondjiva - Two members belonging to Border Police in southern Cunene province have been detained over alleged shooting dead a 27-year-old citizen called Francisco Tchissuali, Angop learnt Sunday.

The information is expressed in a weekly report on the stocktaking of the activity released by National Police Command in Cunene.

According to the source, Francisco Tchissuali has allegedly attempted to cross the Angola / Namibia border check point  carrying 50 liters of fuel on motorbike.

Under the suspicious movement, the police officers asked the victim to stop, but he did not obey and tried to flee. One of them shot the victim dead.

The National Police Command stressed that both officers implicated in the crime have acted alone, as they were not assigned to carry out duty in that area.

The National Police Command in Cunene registered 15 crimes, less ten cases compared to the previous period.
