Speaking to Angop, the director general of the Institute for the Development of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture, Nkosi Luyeye, said the sector intends to take advantage of the huge aquatic resources in Moxico to develop the continental fishing.
Luyeye said that the sector and the local government are conducting studies in the municipalities with the fishing potential.
He said that the objective is to turn the activity into business in order to fight against poverty and job creation for young people.
He noted there is a need to build support infrastructures with cold storage rooms, an experimental center for fish breeding that will boost the different areas, whose activity entails good roads and electricity.
The Ministry of Fisheries also intends to build warehouse for storage and trading iodized salt in the inland municipalities of this province, as well as in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Zambia.
