Angola: Over 3,600 drowned in eight years
Luanda - Drowning deaths stood at 3, 674 from 2010 to 2018 in Angola, said Saturday the secretary of State for Interior for Technical Assurance, Hermenegildo Félix.

Félix released the data at the opening ceremony of the 2018/2019 Bathing Season, under the motto "More safety, less drowning", held in Luanda's Island.
Quoting the data, the official said that in 2010/2011 the country recorded 502 deaths (less 128 than in the previous year), 2011/2012 with 454 (-48), 2012/2013
with 254 (-200), 2013/2014 with 489 (+235), 2014/2015 with 438 (-52), 2015/2016 with 326 (-112), 2016/2017 with 656 (+330) and 2017/2018 with 555 (-101) dead.
The provinces with the more cases are those of Luanda, Benguela, Namibe, Lunda Norte and Huambo.
