These data are part of the World Population Situation Report/2018, presented last Friday, in Luanda, by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which points to sub-Saharan Africa with fertility rates of four or more births per woman.
The UNFPA representative in Angola, Florbela Fernandes, said that currently 671 million women living in developing countries choose to use modern contraceptive methods, another 214 million women in the same context are at risk of pregnancy, because their reproductive choices are limited by the lack of modern contraceptive methods.
As a result, in much of the developing world women continue to have more children than they want.
In addition to the presentation of the World Population Situation Report /2018, the National Statistics Office (INE) also presented the reports on "Population growth trends, young men and women in Angola", which contains data on the evolution of the Angolan population from 1940 to 2014.
On the other hand the minister of Economy and Planning, Pedro Luís da Fonseca, said that the intervention of the State, through the prerogative of redistribution of income through the budget, mainly aimed at preventing the deterioration of the "function of development", seeks to correct defects in resources allocation and reallocation.
Currently, the world population is estimated at 7.6 billion people.
