Chinese citizen killed in Moxico

Luena - A 28-year-old Chinese national was killed Monday in the village of Luchazes, Moxico province, by two Angolans, who threw the victim out of a speeding car.

According to a statement from the Provincial Command of the Moxico National Police, made available to Angop on Thursday, on the balance of events of the last seven days, the alleged perpetrators have already been detained in one of the police stations in the city of Luena.

The reason for the crime, the document explains, was the one-month salary payment that the victim owed to the alleged criminals, who pushed him from a speeding vehicle and died immediately.

The alleged criminals also removed a "Caterpillar" machine from the victim's yards as a claim for wage in arrears.

In the period under review, the corporation also registered 53 crimes of different nature that resulted in the arrest of 58 citizens in the municipalities of Moxico, Luchazes, Cameia and Bundas.

The crimes were of voluntary homicide, domestic violence, voluntary physical offenses, robbery, theft, illegal possession of firearms, mockery and falsification of documents, practiced mostly by citizens between the ages 17 and 48.

In the period in question, the National Police recorded 12 road accidents, six more than the previous period, which resulted in injuries to 14 people, with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol the main causes of disasters.
