The recognition was manifested during the closing ceremony of the 19th IECA’s assembly, which also lauded the performance of the journalists of the Public Television of Angola (TPA) and the National Radio of Angola (RNA).

Pastor Martinho Sonjamba underscored that the homage to these media outlets was in recognition to the good work they have performed, urging journalists to be a model in society providing true information, paying attention to objectivity and rigour so as to contribute to the materialization of the rule of law.

Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) is a state-owned public news company and it is the sole news agency in Angola, whose goal is to gather, treat and publish news in an exclusive regime inside and outside the country based on objective information on the current national and international events.

ANGOP was created in July 1975, under the name Angola National Press Agency (ANAP), but the company did not launch its first telegraphic dispatch until October 30, 1975.

The Agency provides news to other national and international media outlets through electronic connections, Internet or e-mail, directly or other previously agreed routes.
