MAPTSS proposes revision of law on strike

Ndalatando - The Ministry of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security (MAPTSS) will come up with a proposal on approval of a new Law on Strike, Trade Union Activity and Collective Bargaining this year, said Friday the incumbent minister Jesus Maiato.

Maiato said that these laws in force for 28 years, aims to conform them to the Constitution of the Republic and adapt to the new socio-economic context of the country.

Speaking at the Consultative Council of the sector held in Ndalatando, northern Cuanza Norte province, the minister pointed out that the proposals for the future legislative package of the strike, trade unions and collective bargaining will be submitted for public consultation from next March.

Jesus Maiato said that these diplomas will constitute the fundamental bases for regulating the exercise of trade union activity, strikes and collective labour relations.

He also spoke of the approval this year of a new regime applied to the self-employed, domestic workers and small income generating activities.

The objective is to increase the volume of revenue collection for the Institute National Social Security (INSS).

The minister also pledged his sector’s engagement for this 2019 the reinforcement of the programme to combat contributory and assistance fraud, the institutionalisation of the social security financial stabilisation fund, the updating of the social security debt collection system and the social protection legislation required.
