New Media minister reiterates public bodies modernization

Luanda - The Mass Media minister, Nuno dos Anjos Caldas Albino, reiterated last Thursday, in Luanda, the continuous modernization of the public press organs, a process that started with the entrance of the new government two years ago.

Speaking during the ministerial portfolio handover ceremony, the new minister stated the continuity of expansion of the Angola National Radio Station (RNA)’s signal in the whole country, improvement of the infrastructures and technological conditions of ANGOP (Angola Press Agency), TPA (Angola Public Television) and Angola National Radio Station, in order to dignify their professionals.   

Nuno dos Anjos Caldas Albino affirmed that there are lots of challenges and some problems of the sector that will not be sorted out immediately, requesting thus joint action to reach the goals set for the programme of the Executive.

To the Board of Directors of public bodies and the sector directors the minister requested maximum collaboration, zeal, dedication, greater commitment and patriotism.

On his turn, the outgoing minister, João Melo, highlighted the projects that should deserve the new minister's attention, the media organs restructuring.    

João Melo, besides thanking the support of the sector’s officials during his term in office, manifested the availability to continue providing his contribute to the sector.

Nuno dos Anjos Caldas Albino “Nuno Carnaval”, was appointed Media minister on 28 October in replacement of Anibal João da Silva Melo.
