Catoca reinforces working strategies

Saurimo - Catoca Mining Society has reinforced since the beginning of December its strategies to combat and prevent occupational accidents, revealed today, the head of the work safety sector of the institution, Joseph Monteiro.

Among the strategies created are daily work meetings, use of appropriate equipment, inspection of equipment before and after use and professional health, thus contributing to the reduction of accidents.

He added that during the five-day accident prevention week, the company holds briefings on the responsibility of the employer and the worker, safety and health at work, duties, obligations and rights of employees and impact of the family on their behavior.

The purpose of the measure is to educate employees about the issue and improve the working environment, contributing to the development of the company and its family.

Joseph Monteiro revealed that from January to the present date there were 48 ambulatory occupational accidents reported.

In the same period, 19 forest fires were recorded, 10 of which were in equipment and vehicles and one in electrical installations, causing no fatal damage.

Catoca Mining Society is an Angolan diamond prospecting, exploration, recovery and trading company, made up of Endiama (Angola), Alrosa (Russia) and Lev Leviev International - LLI (China).
