Presidency Office of Social Affairs launches three projects in Cacuaco

Luanda - The Presidency of the Republic of Angola last Friday launched three professional projects aimed at young people from Belo Monte district, Cacuaco Municipality, in Luanda, under the program of productive inclusion and generation of work and income.

The projects entitled "Happy on the wheels", "Happy on sewing" and the “Driving School” include, in a first phase, 40 young people, with the distribution of 25 motorcycles and 15 sewing machines.

It is intended to create small businesses that guarantee the sustainability of families, within the scope of the Presidential Programme to Combat Hunger and Poverty.

The 150,000 people who live in Belo Monte neighborhood, mostly young unemployed, are also gaining a vocational training centre in the coming days, included in the programme of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security (MAPTSS).

The minister for Family Issues, Social Action and Promotion of Women, Faustina Alves, said that the programme of empowerment of vulnerable youth and family will be continuous and aims to reduce the dependency of members of the community.

On her turn, the secretary of the President of the Republic for Social Affairs, Fatima Viegas, explained the attribution of the names given to the projects and highlighted the offer the benefits that the activities will bring to the families of the beneficiaries.

Secretary Fátima Viegas represented the Head of State in the ceremony.
