The urging followed ERCA’s plenary session held on Monday, which also alerted television broadcasters to avoid sensationalism of information and promotion of figures who seek to spread occult and anti-social practices.

The aim, ERCA said, is to comply with Press Law, which defends the ethic and social values of the family and people.

ERCA also recommended public media outlets, especially television broadcasters, to set up standards of excellence in their schedule, with a view to providing quality service focused on the training and education of the citizens.

According to ERCA, some programmes have gone against the press legislation.
