Angola and Cape Verde assess social cooperation
Luanda - The reinforcement of social cooperation between the two countries marked the meeting granted this Thursday by the State Minister for Social Area, Carolina Cerqueira, to her Cape Verdean counterpart, Fernando Elísio Freire.

Angola and Cape Verde have excellent cooperation relations in various fields, as well as in the organizations of which they are members, such as the CPLP, the Gulf of Guinea Commission (CGG), the Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) group, among other international organizations.
At bilateral level Angola and Cape Verde have initialed some 40 legal instruments, including agreements, conventions and memoranda.
At the end of the meeting, the Cape Verdean minister pointed to the education and health sectors as a focus for strengthening cooperation.
Fernando Elísio Freire, who considered the relations between the two countries as historical, said that a program related to municipal competencies and the creation of conditions from the central government to the municipal government is being developed.
Regarding the fight against drought in the southern region of Angola, Fernando Elísio Freire stated that Cape Verde is available to pass on its experience to mitigate the situation affecting the populations of theregion.
