State secretary defends research in communication

Luanda - The Secretary of State for Mass Media, Celso Malavoloneke, on Monday, encouraged, in Luanda, the directors of the press and institutional communication offices to invest in pré and post -research and put communication in actions.

Speaking at the II national course on leadership and communication management for behavior change, the official called for the elaboration of strategic and operational plans, greater investment in marketing, evaluation monitoring mechanisms and instruments.

Celso Malavoloneke, who still considers the institutions' information system still weak, said that more investment is needed, that is why the second stage aims to provide a tool for technicians to take the leadership actions for professional behavior change of the sector.

According to Celso Malavoloneke, as most of the participants work in the area of ​​external communication and institution image promotion, this course has contributed to a greater openness to the adoption of communication for social and behavioral change, also known as communication for development in the country's national institutions and provinces.

Celso Malavoloneke also praised public journalists for their work over the past two years, despite some shortcomings, encouraging them to work more and more to develop the sector.

He said that the Ministry of Mass Media (MCS) has scheduled for next year, training for institutional communication professionals.

The training is promoted by the Angolan Ministry of Mass Media and Unicef.

It is the second national training in leadership and communication management for behavior change.

The course was attended by 45 directors 8 from the institutional communication and press offices at national level.
