Faustina Alves said that the programme is open and flexible to all, including civil society, churches and NGOs to identify together local programmes and projects that can benefit the communities.

The minister was speaking at the opening of the first Meeting of the Monitoring and Supervision Unit of the Integrated Programme for Local Development and Combating Poverty in 2020, where she took stock of the activities carried out last year, which she deemed fruitful, despite the difficult economic and financial environment that the country is experiencing.

Therefore, she stressed that they have realigned the priority actions with a focus on ex-military personnel, regarding their integration in productive inclusion and income generation and support for vulnerable families.

This year the department intends to be more operative and strengthen the monitoring and inspection mechanisms, with more visible results and with an impact on the lives of communities.

The minister referred to the situation faced by several Angolans across the country due to the heavy rains that strongly affect the populations, placing them in situations of extreme vulnerability and poverty, which will require redoubling of efforts.

The Angolan Executive has defined as a priority the reduction of the impact of extreme poverty from 36 to 25 percent, which corresponds to three million citizens living in poverty from 2018 to 2022.

However, compared to years 1990 to 2015, the reduction in the poverty impact went from 69 to 36, percent.
