Speaking at the meeting of the Provincial Council for Social Dialogue, the chieftain called for the strengthening of police action in the region to reduce crime and the arrest of the offenders, mostly minors and young people.

The traditional authority also said that the number of robberies and brawls between ciminal groups has increased in recent days in that region involving mainly adolescents and young people.

The struggle between rival criminal groups, using cutting weapons, has caused injuries to their members, who also vandalize public assets, as well as disorder and disobedience in the community.

In his turn, Fernanda Sumbo, deputy provincial governor for the political, economic and social sector of Zaire, said the National Police is already working to redouble its actions to prevent criminal practice and arrest the criminals.
