Icolo e Bengo: 500 Camizungo families benefit from money transfer

Luanda - At least 500 families in Icolo e Bengo municipality?s Camizungo locality, Luanda province, are receiving financing, under the UNICEF?s Social Monetary Transfer Project.

Government supports needy families

This is part of project that has the partnership of the Ministry of Social Action and Women Promotion (MASFAMU), ATOS NGO and World Vision.

The programme which started Thursday covers needy children aged 0-5 years, with monthly payment of 5,000 kwanzas for each child, during six months.

According to UNICEF representative, Glayson Ferrari dos Santos, each family should have up to three children.

The project will cover 1,200 needy children, in view of their vulnerable especially due to covid-19 pandemic.

ANGOP learnt that the payment process is done  by the African Investment Bank (BAI).

The process will be extended to other localities of the same municipality, according to UNICEF representative Glayson dos Santos.
