Implementation of PIIM shows progress

Luanda - The Angolan Government reaffirmed Monday in Luanda that despite the Covid-19 pandemic that plagues the country, the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) is evolving satisfactorily.

According to the Government, in a press release sent to Angop, there are currently more than 887 projects being implemented throughout the country, all with financial quotas allocated and paid at 15 percent.

Within the scope of the PIIM, 577 projects are being implemented concerning the construction and rehabilitation of schools, of which 323 are already under execution.

In only nine months of implementation, of which four months in full restriction due to the State of Emergency and now of Calamity.

For this purpose, the Angolan Government made available a settled amount of AKZ 9.4 billion for the year 2020, with a total cumulative execution of AKZ 21.8 billion.

Launched in August 2019, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the initial PIIM foresaw 236 actions, in the sectors of health, education, construction and public works, administrative infrastructure, energy and water, roads, security and public order, urban planning and sanitation.

Created to cover the country's 164 municipalities, it has a total value of USD 2 billion, coming from the Sovereign Fund of Angola.
