According to a source from the Public Department of Public Health and Endemics Control, the measure followed a tip-off, having the authorities immediately sealed off the hotel and started testing the guests for covid-19.

The source says the lockdown will remain in place until the results of the laboratory tests are released.

Angola has registered the highest number of covid-19 infections in 24 hours on Sunday (09), since the disease was announced in the country in March this year, after reporting 100 new positive cases.

The country’s current covid-19 statistics show 1.672 infections, 75 deaths, 567 recoveries and 1.030 active patients.
