HEADQUARTERS OF THE MINISTRY OF SOCIAL COMMUNICATION
"The Ministry of Social Communication is the Government organ tasked with organising and controlling the implementation of the national information policy."
The Ministry has the following duties:
a) To assist the Government with the implementation of the national policy on information;
b) To organise and maintain an information service of public interest;
c) To govern the activity of the media sector;
d) To license the activity of radio and television broadcasting;
e) To register journalistic and advertising companies, as well as radio and television programmes, for statistic purposes, protection against unfair competition and copyright;
f) To govern the exercise in the national territory of the activity of foreign correspondents and inform the Government on how the profession is undertaken;
g) To promote the dissemination of information related to official activities through press conferences, radio, television and other means available.
h) To perform other tasks assigned by State's High Entities, related to their daily activity.
