The province of Uíje has a range of natural and historical attractions. The tourists make a trip to the past.

 

S. José Church

Built in the 18th century, is located near the Encoje stones.    

 

Fort of Bembe

It was built in the 20th century, nearby  the Church of Bembe. 

 

Stone of Nzinga Nzambi, Quimanga Kakula and Tunda, in Negage.

Ruins of Maquela do Zombo small fort, the rock carvings of Kissadi. We can also visit the tomb of the Ancient Mekabangu, Warrior of resistance against colonial occupation. There is also the bust of Mbemba Ngangu which is located at the entrance of the neighborhood with the same name, in honor of the soba Mbemba. 

 

Béu Forest Reserve

With an extension of 1,400 kilometers square of dense forest, is bounded on the North by the DRC, to the West with the Nzadi River, to the East by the Beu River and the South by Béu commune Béu. You can find here elephants, Buffalo, blue monkeys, and antelopes.

 

Monument of the Battle of  Ambuíla

Situated two kilometres south-east of the town of Ambuila and 90 kilometres northeast of the city of Uíje which is a memorial built by the Portuguese in 1945, to symbolize the battle fought between the natural and the Portuguese against the Portuguese colonial occupation. 

 

Ethnographic Museum of Kongo

It is located opposite the Protocol residence of local government, in the Centre of the city of Uíje.
