Luanda - More than 45,000 Angolans have been graduated in Cuba since the two states established diplomatic relations, Cuba ambassador to Angola, Oscar Gonzalez said Friday in Luanda.
The diplomat made the statement at the end of a meeting with the president of the National Youth Council (CNJ), Isaías Kalunga, which was attended by representatives of youth organizations.
For the diplomat, this is a historic figure, given the length of the relationship between the two countries.
The republics of Angola and Cuba formalized diplomatic relations on November 15, 1975.
Regarding the CNJ's request for support for scholarships, the ambassador said there are official mechanisms for cooperation in the education field between the two governments, where the youth council can be included.
Oscar Gonzalez recalled that the two countries are linked by history, culture and family relations.
The CNJ's Secretary for International Relations, Vitorino Matias, on his turn, said they intend to continue to focus on the inclusive and integral training of young Angolans and that the council is meeting with diplomatic bodies in the country to analyze possibilities of support for training program.
The CNJ was founded on October 4,1991.
