ANGOP learnt that the reason behind the disqualification is the fact that the squad used the player Dongo Camarâ irregularly, since she has already played for France’s national team.

Meanwhile, Tunisia, who were eliminated in the semi-finals, had presented a protest over the irregular use of the Senegalese player, to which the organisers promptly responded.

“We, members of the African Handball Confederation, held a meeting that lasted until last dawn to analyse the dossier and received the information from the International Federation that Senegal are out of the competition”, said Pedro Godinho on an interview to the press.

According to Pedro Godinho, who is also vice-chairman of the African Handball Confederation, Tunisia will now face the host team (Angola) in the final and Cameroon automatically will now occupy the third position of the competition.
