Basketball: Athlete Jone Pedro quits 1º de Agosto

Luanda - 1º de Agosto basketball player Jone Pedro is leaving the club due to alleged failure to reach an agreement with the club on renewal of the contract, reports the club.

1º de Agosto explained that the 28 year- old and 2.08 meter tall athlete did not join the club in time at the beginning of the season.

As  result, the club applied an unspecified monetary penalty.

Jone Pedro demanded the restitution of the value as a condition for renewal of the contract, a fact that the club did not agree by describing the discipline as linear that should be maintained.

Jone Pedro won several competitions, with stress to the national championships in 2016 and 2018, as well as the Supercup and the Victorino Cunha Tournament (2019 season).
