CAN2019: Minister represents president at opening ceremony

Luanda - Angolan minister of Youth and Sports Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto is representing the President João Lourenço at the opening ceremony of the 2019 African Cup of Nations on Friday (21) in Cairo, Egypt.

Minister of youth and sports, Ana Paula da Silva do Sacramento

Speaking to national radio station’s Radio 5 sports channel on Thursday in the venue of the competition, the minister confirmed to have delivered a message from president João Lourenço to his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.

The official also announced the meeting with the national team's athletes and the coach, in Suez, the venue of the team, integrated in group E along with Tunisia, Mali and Mauritania.

The Angolan National Football Team (Palancas Negras), have participated in the African championships of South Africa (1996), Burkina Faso (1998), Egypt (2006), Ghana (2008), Angola (2010), Gabon -Equatorial (2012) and South Africa (2013).
