The Super Cup, which officially opens the 2020 handball championship season, marked the debut of 1º de Agosto’s new coach and Petro de Luanda’s new goalkeeper, the Russian Viktoria Polchikova.

The match recorded slight balance in the first half, which enabled Petro de Luanda to  lead by 14-12 at the end of the first half, however 1º de Agosto took advantage of the greater competitive experience of the team's players and defensive failures of the opponents to win the match.

1º Agosto now adds to three the number of Super Cup wins, while Petro are the top winners with 10 trophies won in this competition, which aims to honor the first chairperson of the Angolan Handball Federation, Francisco de Almeida.
