Speaking of the agricultural sector in Cabinda, the official said that the distribution of one million seedlings will be extended to rural families to promote the cultivation of plants and fruit trees, under the referred project.

Launched in September 2018 and funded by the African Development Bank, the project has already been delayed in its implementation by eight months.

Inserted in the National Development Plan 2018-2022, the project was defined by the Angolan Executive as a priority for the increase of national production and reduction of imports, especially of the basic basket consumer goods.

The initiative aims to improve the production, conservation, storage, processing and marketing of food crops, sea and river fisheries, horticulture and small ruminant (goat and sheep) infrastructures.

The project is expected to benefit 51,000 small business owners, entrepreneurs and business associations.

In addition to Cabinda, the project will be implemented in the provinces of Zaire, Uige, Cuanza Norte, Bengo, Benguela, Huambo, Bié, Moxico, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Huila, Namibe, Cunene and Cuando Cubango.
