This workshop, according to a press release from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, takes place as part of the process of formulating the transition strategy and diagnosing the informal economy.
The meeting will analyze the particularities of informality in Angola, existing gaps and opportunities for the formulation of an integrated strategy proposal aimed at the informality target groups that aims to promote the treatment of gaps and the articulation of actions among stakeholders for short, medium and long term impacts.
For the various panels, national experts with knowledge and experience on the subject and for the strategic exercises were invited.
In the note, the ministry emphasizes that the issues of the transition from informal to formal economy have been debated internationally and over the past 40 years, and the International Labor Organization has consolidated a set of consensus on the issue.
Regarding the theme, in Angola, and according to the National Development Plan 2018-2022, the Government justifies the need to transition from subsistence and family economy to formal economy models due to a set of weaknesses that affect informal workers, informal enterprises and their weight in the economy as a whole.
