The seven assets were acquired by five Angolan companies, in an act that happened in one meeting room of the Ministry of Finance, under strict observance of the rules for preventing and combating Covid-19.
The FF Empreendimentos Group signed the contract for the acquisition of Camaiangala Agribusiness project, located in the eastern Moxico Province, for 9.7 billion Kwanzas.
With an area of 19 thousand hectares, it includes a cereal processing plant and a structure for livestock farming.
The mentioned tender, which culminated in the privatization of Camaiangala farm, also includes the agribusiness enterprises of Longa (Cuando Cubango), Cuimba (Zaire) and Sanza Pombo (Uíge).
It was also signed sales contracts with the Pérolas do Kikuxi Telgest farm, Bailundo Agro-Pecuária Group Edson Droves Group, for the acquisition of Modular Slaughterhouses in Luanda, Camabatela and Porto Amboim, the Catete Silos Complex, the Caxito Cold Warehouse and the Caxito Tomato and Banana Processing Factory.
The signing session was chaired by the secretary of State for Finance and the Treasury and Permanent Technical Coordinator of PROPRIV, Osvaldo João.
On the occasion, he explained that the diversification of the economy is becoming more urgent and the non-oil sector should be the main factor of this process.
“This stage signals confidence in the future. The assets whose contracts were signed are part of the Executive's privatization programme, a programme that will continue to benefit from investor confidence,” he said.
Osvaldo João said that the confidence is evident in the fact that none of the assets were sold below 80% of the reference price, one of which exceeded the bidding base.
"The Privatization Programme will continue, despite the current adverse circumstances, and will fulfil its role in boosting the economy", he stressed.
To Elizabeth Dias dos Santos, manager of Fazenda Pérola do Kikuxi,it represents a gain, since the country intends to stop having failed projects.
"The moment is critical but it is at this stage that those who make a difference in the economy appear," she said.
Jaime Pereira, from the Sociedade Agro-Pecuária do Bailundo SA, which acquired the assets of the Industrial Slaughterhouse of Camabatela, stated that the intention is to recover and surpass the national meat production of the past times.
The State Asset Management Institute (IGAPE) signed the aforementioned contracts for the concession of seven assets included in public tenders for the privatization of farming and agribusiness enterprises.
