The sector plans to teach 500,000 adults and youth illiterates, as part of the generalisation of the First Cycle of Secondary Education for adults.
Speaking to ANGOP, the official stressed the sector's intention to eliminate gender disparities in education and ensure proportionality in access to all levels of education and vocational training for the most vulnerable, which covers people with disabilities, natives and vulnerable children.
The project started in 2015 and allows those, for any reasons, who did not completed the First Cycle of Secondary Education in certain age, possess at least a minimum knowledge.
In 2019 the sector created 302 classrooms in provinces of Luanda, Huambo and Malanje.
This allowed many young people to complete the First Cycle of Secondary Education with skills to attend the vocational training with equivalence to training at subsequent levels.
