The Minister of Social Communication spoke at the ceremony to present end-of-year of greetings of the workers and officials of the aforementioned ministerial department.
Other commitments that the government announced for the coming year have to do with the restructuring and modernization of public companies in the sector, in the fields of management and technological provision, as well as the promotion of private initiative in the area of social communication.
Referring to the statement of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in a collective interview he gave to the national and foreign press, in the sense that "the process of opening information, beginning with the public press, is to continue," the minister reinforced that this option will continue "with political, technical-professional and ethical responsibility," but also "without ambiguity or hesitation."
João Melo, after reminding that open and diversified communication is fundamental for the democratization of society, added that, in addition to continuing what he called the "responsible opening" of the public press, the Ministry of Social Communication will also promote, in 2019, the promotion of the local and community press, as well as establishing synergies with the private press.
