Aníbal de Melo press center has new deputy director

Luanda - Anibal de Melo press center (CIAM) has since Friday, June 28, a new deputy director, Maria Amélia de Almeida, who was sworn in by the minister of Mass Media, João Melo.

Maria Amélia de Almeida is CIAM employee since 1988 and  replaced António de Carvalho Rufino Neto, retired a month ago. Prior to that, she served as secretary of management and the head of department of support of the Director General.

On that occasion, Minister João Melo highlighted the importance of the CIAM with regard to working with external communication, as well as the need to strengthen this role, in light of the country's current political and governance cycle.

In this sense, she urged the newly- sworn in woman to work hard in the conduct of the company, with a view to strengthening her performance, at the same time wishing her success and happiness.

CIAM was created on June 25, 1976, and it is an institution under umbrella of he Ministry of Mass Media, among other tasks, to support, monitor and accredit the foreign press in Angola.
