Cunene: CNIDAH strengthens awareness campaigns on landmine risks

Ondjiva - The activities turned to the sensitisation of the citizens on the dangers of landmines will be strengthened at the level of rural and suburban areas of the southern Cunene Province, with a view to preventing accidents involving various types of ordnances.

This was said on Friday in Ondjiva, Cunene Province, by the officer of the Inter-sectoral Commission for Demining and Humanitarian Assistance  (CNIDAH), Mário Satipamba.      

Speaking to ANGOP, Mário Satipamba stressed that this kind of sensitisation work is of paramount importance, reason why CNIDAH is to reinforce its awareness campaigns in places like schools and markets.

Mário Satipamba explained that this exercise will be continuous, with a view to raising people’s awareness and contribute to the decrease of landmine accidents.

CNIDAH is Cunene Province supervises the work of three demining works operators.
