New airport to handle over 15 million passengers/year
Luanda - At least 15 million passengers will be handled annually by the new international airport of Luanda under construction in the locality of Bom Jesus, said on Wednesday in the municipality of Icolo e Bengo near Luanda by the secretary of State for Construction, António Flor.

According to him, from this figure 10 million passengers will be in international flight and the remaining five million in domestic flight.
Antonio Flor was speaking at the end of his visit to social projects around Catete village, such as breeding sites of CITIC Construction, the future international airport of Luanda and
Quiminha dam, 80 kilometers northeast off Luanda.
The State secretary for Construction remembered that in long-term the airport could reach 60 million passengers.
ANGOP learned on the site that the works are divided into four areas: flight zones, terminals, traffic control area and support facilities.
The new international airport is being built in 40 kilometers from the center of Luanda, in an area of 1,324 hectares and will have two double runways, of which the south, with
landing capacity of the largest commercial aircraft in the world, the Airbus A380.
