Antimalarials, tuberculostatics, painkillers, syrups, antipyretics, laboratory test reagents, hypertension medicines, serum packs and various injectables were delivered by the Ministry of Health (MINSA), 24 hours after the unknown fire which caused stock rupture in Lobito Hospital.

This first government assistance includes 500 mosquito nets, nutrition and reproductive health program-specific drugs, 20 hospital mattresses, and miscellaneous expendable supplies to meet the needs of patients who depend on these drugs.

Speaking to the press, after the symbolic delivery of the drugs, Health Minister Sylvia Lutucuta said that these drugs should cover the needs of the health unit within the next five months.

Sílvia Lucutuca stated that this is an urgent support measure for the restocking of Hospital do Lobito, as the drug store, destroyed by the flames, also supported the communes within the municipality, and, sometimes served as a backup for the province of Benguela.
