During the campaign, promoted by the Provincial Government of Huambo, several warehouses selling food products were disinfected, in order to guarantee safety conditions and prevent the spread of this pandemic to more than 15,000 sellers and buyers.
With the closure of the informal part, the salespeople should immediately occupy the formal area, built in 2009, with 12,124 seats, mostly vacated by merchants who opted for the open space, even in this phase of prevention against the disease.
As a result, according to what ANGOP learned at the site, despite having even 124 seats, the capacity should be reduced by half, so that the minimum distance required is respected, giving exclusive priority to the sale of food and other essential products.
In addition to the Quissala market, several public spaces of greater population agglomeration are being disinfected, including the Lossambo Centrality, an initiative of the Health Office, in coordination with that of Agriculture and Fisheries, and the involvement of the business sector.
