According to the organization official, the initiative stems from an absolutely voluntary attitude by citizens and companies to hand over to the Interministerial Commission any and all forms of help to face Covid-19.

However, it explains, in a note, that when the pandemic crisis emerged, several citizens and companies in Angola voluntarily expressed the desire to contribute with what was within their reach, from money, medicines, food and others.

In this scenario, the Interministerial Commission that was created to deal with the problem, understood that it was right to accept this solidarity aid from the society, thus indicating a bank account number for cash contributions.

Meanwhile, it reinforces that, both the indication of the account number (belonging to the Ministry of Finance Treasury Department) and the subsequent dissemination of an SMS by the users of mobile phones asking for help from citizens, created the erroneous perception that the Government would be charging Angolans a kind of tribute or tax to bear the burden of the fight against the deadly virus.
