Covid-19: TAAG cancels 180 International flights
Luanda - The Angolan Flag Carrier TAAG has ceased to operate 204 domestic and 180 international flights, since the State of Emergency entered into force in Angola on 27 March last, the minister of Transport, Ricardo de Abreu, announced last Friday in Luanda.

According to the minister, the cancelled domestic flights made impossible for 16,500 people to travel, while international flights left nearly 30,000 passengers on land.
In a press conference regarding the first 8 days of State of Emergency, decreed by the President João Lourenço, the government said that the air carrier has almost 6,700 Angolan citizens abroad, with tickets issued to return to Angola.
The national and provincial legal interdiction outlined in the Presidential Order, that declares the Emergency State, bans the move of any means of transport for passengers in both national and international level, aiming to avoid the Covid-19 community spread.
He appealed to the citizens with internal and external flights scheduled in this time frame, with a 15 day of stay, to remain calm and obey the measures of the State of Emergency, in order to avoid the dissemination of the disease.
