Covid-19: Health units in Soyo benefit from screening equipment
Soyo - Sixteen public health posts in the municipality of Soyo, in the northern Province of Zaire are receiving screening equipment and bio-safety materials, within the scope of the Covid-19 prevention and control measures.

According to the municipal director of Health, Pedro Lussukamo, who spoke to the press last Wednesday, the local health units are receiving infrared thermometers, gloves, gowns, masks and head covers, among other material provided by the incumbent Ministry and the Municipal Administration.
According to the official, with these means the health units in the region are reinforced and equipped with screening and bio-safety material to deal with possible cases of Covid-19, especially in the communes of Sumba and Pedra de Feitiço that share the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The local health authorities, he said, have strengthened, in recent months, the control and inspection measures at several border posts with the DRC, as well as on the national road that connects Soyo to Luanda.
He informed that in the last 15 days, eight citizens were detained in the Municipality of Soyo, by the National Police, for violation of the sanitary fence of Luanda and the border with the DRC.
With an area of 5,275 square kilometres, the Municipality of Soyo has an estimated population of 227,175 inhabitants distributed in five communes, namely, Pedra de Feitiço, Sumba, Quêlo, Mangue Grande and Sede.
