Covid-19: Mbanza Kongo reports first infection
Mbanza Kongo - Mbanza Kongo city, the capital of northern Zaire province, has detected Monday the first covid-19 positive case, local health authorities announced.

According to Zaire province health supervisor, Andrade Lunzayilawo Kianzuaku, this first infection is part of the nine reactive cases resulting from 200 tests conducted in July in Mbanza Kongo.
He said the case is an asymptomatic infection that has been placed in home quarantine while the authorities seek to trace down the links.
Altogether, Zaire has 20 positive cases of covid-19, of which 19 reported in the oil exploring Soyo city.
