Speaking at the National Culture Day, Eugénio Laborinho said that the idea is to contribute to the valorization of the identity, dissemination and preservation of the artistic potential of the Angolan people.
During the conference, a lecture was given on "Reflection on cultural practices in Cabinda in a perspective of the past and the present," which was proclaimed by the university professor Júlio Horácio, who compared cultural practices, among which the alambamento and chicumbi (ritual of female initiation), in the past and in the present time.
Alambamento , also known as traditional marriage, was more important than civil or religious marriage, and the gifts given to the bride had a symbolic value, contrary to what is currently the case.
